The CMES PTA

PTA membership dues for the '07 - '08 school year is $7.00.  Along with your membership card, you will receive a CMES paw print car magnet.

By joining the Carroll Manor Elementary School PTA you make a commitment to support our school community.  With that membership, you are given a voice in your child's education.  The CMES PTA sponsors a variety of cultural arts presentations to students throughout the year as well as informational meetings for parents.  Our PTA even assists with the cost of field trips, student supplies (such as homework agendas), equipment and materials for teachers.  This is made possible through the hard work and generosity of all who participate in CMES PTA fundraisers.

The CMES PTA goals and objectives for the '06 - '07 year are as follows:

  • Increase membership 10% above last year's membership total.
  • Assist with at least one project that benefits a community group or individual in Frederick County, preferably in our feeder group.
  • Assist the staff with increasing the number of student Field Trips with our new committee.
  • Improve the wellbeing of our students and family members by having at least one evening of educational programs on health and family issues.

The Carroll Manor Elementary School PTA is part of the Frederick County and National PTA organization.

The mission of the Frederick County PTA is as follows:

  • To support and speak on the behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.
  • To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children.
  • To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

The objectives of the National PTA are as follows:

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  •  To bring into closer relation the home and the school so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  •  To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
