PTA membership dues for the '10 - '11 school year is $8.00. However, we would graciously accept a $2 donation if you choose to pay "up" to $10.00 for the dues. By joining the Carroll Manor Elementary School (CMES) PTA you make a commitment to support our school community.  With that membership, you are given a voice in your child's education.  The CMES PTA sponsors dozens of events throughout the year including:  after school enrichment programs, 5k run/walk, art fundraiser, fall/spring book fairs, fall festival, and a variety of cultural arts presentations.  Our PTA even assists with the cost of field trips;  last year nearly $8000 went toward paying for students' trips.  All this is made possible through the hard work and generosity of all who participate in CMES PTA fundraisers.

The CMES PTA goals and objectives for the '10 - '11 year are as follows:

    • To partner with the school to ensure a safe and successful academic year for our children during the construction of our addition.
    • To increase the PTA membership level by 5%.
    • To increase volunteerism through the “Three For Me” program; a program where parents pledge to their children to give three hours of volunteer time to the school and/or PTA events.
    • To increase the use of the CMES PTA website and to migrate towards paperless communication to our members and school community.

The Carroll Manor Elementary School PTA is part of the Frederick County and National PTA organization.

The mission of the Frederick County PTA is as follows:

  • To support and speak on the behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.
  • To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children.
  • To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.

The objectives of the National PTA are as follows:

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community and place of worship.
  • To raise the standards of home life.
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school so that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
